Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 10, 2026. This policy describes how MicProbe handles information when you test your microphone, sign in, save reports or purchase Premium.

Who is responsible for your information

MicProbe is operated from Türkiye by Burak ÖZER, the data controller for the information handled through MicProbe. For privacy questions or requests about your information, contact support@micprobe.com.

How and why information is processed

Information is collected electronically through your browser when you use a test, choose settings, sign in or save a report, through Google's sign-in response, and through purchase-verification responses from Freemius. If you contact us, we also receive the information you include in your message.

Account recognition, requested report storage, purchase verification and related support are processed to provide the service you request, on the basis of establishing or performing that service contract under Article 5(2)(c) of Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK). Necessary security and fault-diagnosis processing relies on the legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and working, subject to your fundamental rights and freedoms, under Article 5(2)(f). The optional 30-day sign-in cookie is used only when you select it; signing out removes it.

Microphone tests and reports

Microphone recordings are processed in your browser. Audio recordings are not uploaded to account history. Reports contain measurements, microphone and browser information, captured settings, diagnostic error and warning summaries, and any notes you add.

Without signing in, you can test your microphone and view the current result, but reports are not saved to history.

Google sign-in and sessions

When you choose Google sign-in, Google provides your account identifier, name and verified email address. MicProbe stores these to recognize your account, associate saved reports with you and link verified purchases. MicProbe does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, contacts or your Google password.

MicProbe uses a session cookie to keep you signed in during your browser session. If you select “Keep me signed in on this device” when signing in, that cookie is saved for up to 30 days. Browser session-restore features may also retain session cookies, so sign out on shared devices. Signing out ends that session; it does not delete your saved reports or purchase association. Sign-in security cookies expire after 10 minutes or are removed when sign-in succeeds.

These first-party cookies are named micprobe_session (your signed-in session) and micprobe_login_nonce_* (proof that a sign-in request started in this browser). When accounts are enabled, Google's sign-in service may load as you enter the test screen to offer an optional Google One Tap sign-in, or when you open the sign-in panel. One Tap requires your choice to continue and uses a browser-session cookie; it does not select the optional 30-day sign-in cookie. A flag in this tab's session storage prevents repeated automatic prompts during the same visit. You can dismiss the suggestion and keep testing without an account. Browser settings may prevent the suggestion from appearing.

Saved information and your controls

Reports from tests started while signed in are saved to that account. You can delete individual saved reports from History. Pending saves may remain on this browser until they can be synchronized with their owning account. Signing out hides account history here.

Saved reports remain in your account until deleted; MicProbe does not currently apply an automatic report-expiration period. Browser storage also holds preferences, local diagnostic logs and pending account operations. Clearing site data removes those local items and may discard changes that have not synchronized. It does not delete information already saved to your account.

  • Microphone and scenario preferences: the microphone and scenario you choose are remembered on this browser until changed or site data is cleared. No automatic expiry is currently applied.
  • Pending reports and notes: local copies are kept for the account that created them until the save is confirmed or the pending item is removed.
  • Checkout return: temporary tab storage keeps the current report and scenario while you visit checkout. Restoration is allowed for 30 minutes and consumes the saved copy. A pending purchase return is removed after successful verification. These items otherwise remain until the tab session ends or site data is cleared.
  • Local diagnostic logs: technical events remain on this browser without an automatic expiry. Clearing this site's stored data in your browser settings removes these logs. The app's log-clear command removes messages from the current view; it does not delete the stored logs.
  • Earlier purchase access: if account sign-in is unavailable, verified purchase-access information may be remembered on this browser until replaced or site data is cleared. The server checks access before providing premium details.

Service providers

Detailed analysis sends report measurements to the MicProbe server. The hosted service uses Cloudflare to serve requests and store account data. Hosting providers process network information such as your IP address when serving requests. Google provides sign-in and web fonts. Freemius processes purchases; MicProbe stores the license association and access status so you can return with the same account.

Google Fonts receives your IP address, the font URL requested and browser request headers when fonts load. Google states that its Fonts API does not set or log cookies or use this information for user profiles or targeted advertising. See Google Fonts and privacy.

Checkout opens on Freemius's site when you choose to purchase. Its payment providers and cookie controls apply there; see Freemius's cookie information. MicProbe does not embed advertising or visitor-analytics scripts in its pages. Service providers may process information outside your country.

See the privacy information from Google, Cloudflare and Freemius for their services.

Contact and account requests

For privacy questions, access or correction requests, or a request to delete account information, contact support@micprobe.com. Individual saved reports can be deleted directly from History.

Depending on the law that applies to you, your rights may include learning whether your information is processed, accessing it, knowing its purposes and recipients, correcting it, requesting deletion or restriction, receiving a portable copy, objecting to processing, and complaining to a data protection authority. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it for future processing. We may need to verify that a request concerns your own account before acting on it.

Under KVKK Article 11, you may also ask whether information is used in accordance with its stated purpose, request that corrections or deletions be notified to recipients, object to a result against you based solely on automated analysis, and seek compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing. Requests are handled under the applicable legal conditions and response periods.
