Terms of Service

Last updated: October 16, 2026. These terms describe use of MicProbe's microphone tests, saved reports and Premium features. MicProbe is operated from Türkiye by Burak ÖZER.

Using MicProbe

MicProbe is provided "as is" for testing and diagnostic purposes. Use at your own discretion.

Guests can complete 2 free microphone tests per day. Signing in provides 5 free tests per day in total, including guest tests already completed that day. Limits renew at midnight UTC. Failed or insufficient recordings do not count, but a test counts once its reading has started, even if you then stop it yourself or leave the page in the background, for example by switching to another tab or app. Lifetime Premium is a single payment with unlimited microphone tests and no recurring membership charge. Reopening a result, listening and downloading an existing recording do not use a test. The Raw recorder saves recordings without a test and does not count toward these limits.

Anonymous testing is also limited per network connection and browser together: at most 2 counted tests per day for each browser on a connection, and at most 20 counted tests per day for everyone sharing that connection in total. If your browser blocks the storage needed to recognize it, the whole connection shares 2 counted tests per day. People sharing an internet connection can sign in to use their separate account allowances. Changing your IP address is not proof of a new person.

New saved reports are a Premium feature. Premium accounts keep their latest 200 reports within 10 MiB, so the storage limit may retain fewer than 200. Storage includes measurements, the saved evaluation, notes and any existing earlier reviews. Saving a new report automatically removes the oldest saved reports as needed. Adding an explanation keeps that report and may remove the oldest other reports to make room. Removed reports cannot be restored by a delayed save; download a PDF to keep a separate copy. A report that cannot fit on its own is not saved and does not remove other reports. A change in Premium status does not automatically delete saved reports, and earlier Free-account reports remain available to read and delete.

Your account and saved reports

Sign in with the same MicProbe account to retrieve saved reports and linked premium access. Saved reports contain measurements and settings; they do not include audio recordings. Each report evaluates its own captured test. Previous reports and personal notes do not affect a new result.

Premium details explain measured findings and relevant checks; they do not guarantee a physical diagnosis or a solution. Detailed PDF download requires Premium and is an optional copy of the current report. Reopening a saved evaluation or downloading its PDF does not start a new test. Earlier personal review records are retained as read-only data and do not feed new reports.

An additional interpretation is part of Premium, not a separate purchase: select Full result to request it. Requests have a daily limit per account, shown in the full result, and are also subject to shared service limits. Reopening a result reuses its existing interpretation or request already in progress. A request sent for generation counts toward the account limit even if generation fails. Interpretations may be temporarily unavailable; the report’s findings, steps, measurements and score remain available.

What the tests measure

MicProbe's platform profiles are local approximations. A test does not run the actual Discord, Zoom, Teams or other calling-platform client and cannot guarantee how another application will sound. A call test's connection check sends a built-in sample voice through a relay server near you and back: it describes your connection to that server at the time of the test, not the route a calling app uses or the other person's connection. Report suggestions depend on the available measurements and test conditions. Discord, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Zoom, Google Meet, WhatsApp, Telegram and the other app names and logos on this site belong to their owners. MicProbe is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by them; a name or logo only says which app a test imitates.

Purchases and lifetime access

Freemius handles payment and purchase management. Review the price and terms shown at checkout before purchasing. Signing out or an expired sign-in session does not by itself cancel a verified lifetime purchase.

Lifetime Premium is a one-time license with no scheduled expiration or recurring charge, for as long as MicProbe operates the Premium service. If MicProbe ever discontinues the Premium service, we will announce that on this site at least 30 days in advance; during that notice period, reports you have already saved remain viewable and exportable as PDF. Access belongs to the MicProbe account linked to the verified purchase. It includes unlimited microphone tests and the Premium report features described on this site; saved-report storage is subject to the limits above. Listening to the difference, the comparison of a test recording with and without app-like sound processing, currently works only on Windows computers. Audio files are not stored in your account.

Return with the same Google account and open Account and choose Manage purchase for receipts and purchase management. If a purchased or gifted license has not yet been linked to your account, open Account and choose Activate a license key with the full license key; an unassigned (gift) key becomes bound to the activating account once used, the same as any other license. Contact purchase support if you cannot recover access.

7-day refund conditions

If you report an issue within 7 days of purchase that makes MicProbe unusable and we cannot resolve it, we will consider a full refund. This is a policy for unresolved product problems, not an unconditional satisfaction guarantee. It does not limit any statutory consumer right you may have that these terms cannot restrict, including applicable EU and Turkish distance-sales rules for digital content.

Freemius is the merchant of record for MicProbe purchases: it processes payment and, once a refund is approved, issues it. Send your refund request to purchase support with your purchase email address, receipt or order number, a description of the issue and the steps you have tried. A request is reviewed before a refund is approved; sending it does not automatically refund or cancel the purchase. A full refund ends Premium access on the account it was linked to; it does not delete reports you already saved, which remain readable as Free-account history subject to the limits above.

Acceptable use of our software

MicProbe's software, including its measurement methods, the rules and levels that turn measurements into findings, its scoring and its report wording, belongs to MicProbe and is protected by copyright. The finding rules, levels and scoring run on our servers and are kept confidential. Using MicProbe gives you no rights in this software beyond using the site as these terms describe.

You may not copy, decompile, reverse engineer or otherwise extract MicProbe's code, measurement methods, finding rules, levels, scoring or report wording, whether by reading the site's files, by sending made-up, altered or repeated measurements to our services, or by having bots, scripts or AI agents do this for you. You may not use MicProbe, its results or its reports to build, train or improve a competing product or model. We may block the requests and suspend the accounts involved in such use. This does not limit anything applicable law allows you to do regardless of these terms, or the rights the open-source licenses below give you over those components.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live still apply.

Open-source software

The MP3 download is encoded in your browser by LAME through lamejs, used unmodified under the GNU Lesser General Public License. MicProbe also includes other open-source components, such as the Opus audio codec, jsPDF and the DeepFilterNet noise remover; each component's license is distributed with the site. The connection check's sample voice is a shortened, levelled and re-encoded excerpt of the LibriSpeech corpus by Vassil Panayotov, Guoguo Chen, Daniel Povey and Sanjeev Khudanpur, used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license.
